UFTM Traditional Music Concert - Wednesday 14 December 2011

14 December 2011

Venue Ulster Folk & Transport Museum

Time 8pm-10pm

Admission Museum entrance fee applicable

Come to the Ulster Folk & Transport Museum to hear Matt Molloy, Seán Keane and Arty McGlynn performing at the Traditional Music Concert.

Matt Molloy and Seán Keane have carved out international renown as members of the hugely successful traditional music band, The Chieftains. Matt Molloy is widely recognised as one of the world's greatest wooden flute players and he is matched in musical artistry by the fiddle playing of Seán Keane. Arty McGlynn from Omagh is consistently rated as one of the great guitar players and has featured in Van Morrison's band as well as forming a long musical partnership with fiddle player Nollaig Casey. Matt, Seán and Arty released one of the all-time classics of Irish traditional music in 1985 with their recording "Contentment is Wealth".

This fluid, inventive and exciting release remains one of the benchmark recordings of traditional music and this concert promises to revive just some of the spirit and musical understanding which inspired that great record.
