Temporary Closure on North Down Coastal Path

A section of the North Down Coastal Path will be closed from now until late September 2008.

This is due to essential remedial works to the bitmac surfacing and associated drainage system damaged during the recent period of heavy rain.

The area in question runs from the access road to Carnalea Golf Club (Along Killaire Road) to its junction with the coastal path and from there along the Coastal Path as far as Swineley Bay.

This means that Crawfordsburn Country Park will not be accessible from Bangor via the Coastal Path e.g. from Carnalea, Stricklands Glen, Pickie or Bangor Marina.
